Floating Shelves
So I found this tutorial on (where else?) Pinterest and I was like "I could totally do that!" With the help of my Step-Dad and his tools we went at it.
Not gonna lie these took me forever to finish. Not because they were hard. They are actually pretty easy. But because I can be lazy and get sidetracked by pretty much anything and ooh something shiny! See, it is true.
My Step-Dad came over last fall and we were able to get them made in just two days. He left town and all I had dot do was stain and place them on the walls. Due to the afore mentioned laziness, that did not happen until this last weekend LOL. My Mom came to visit with getting this job done in mind (thanks Mom). Sometimes you just need a kick in the a** to finish a project. We did two coats of stain and I sprayed clear sealer on them to finish. I placed them just this morning and I am so excited to get them decorated.
Warning!: Be sure to measure the space between the walls at where the back of the shelve is going to sit as well as the space where the front of the shelve is. I found out that neither of my bathrooms are the same size in the front of the shelve as in the back so even though you cannot see it in my shelves they are not flush against the wall on all sides (but pretty close) so don't be worried if yours aren't either (your friends and family will just be in awe that you actually made them yourself that they won't notice).
Here is the finished project (well except without the decor items). We got all the supplies at our Home Depot (love that store).
